Hong Kong’s largest ever native hit A Responsible Conscience was named greatest movie on the 42nd Hong Kong Movie Awards (HKFA), whereas Mad Destiny’s Soi Cheang took greatest director and The Goldfinger swept six awards together with greatest actor for Tony Leung.
A Responsible Conscience producer Invoice Kong acquired the highest award on stage from acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda. That was the one win on the evening for the courtroom drama, which went into the awards ceremony with 10 nominations.

Homicide thriller Mad Destiny scooped three awards comprising greatest screenplay, greatest modifying and greatest director for Cheang. His upcoming movie Twilight Of The Warriors: Walled In is ready to premiere at Cannes’ Midnight Screenings.
Large-budget monetary crime extravaganza The Goldfinger earned essentially the most prizes with six wins, largely within the technical classes except for greatest actor for Tony Leung. It marked his sixth greatest actor win at HKFA and his first since 2005 for Wong Kar Wai’s 2046.
Leung accepted the award by way of a stay video, seen with a brand new crew reduce look, as he’s in Europe filming Ildikó Enyedi’s Silent Good friend.
Newsroom drama In Broad Daylight, which led the pack with 16 nominations, walked away with three awards for greatest actress Jennifer Yu, greatest supporting actor David Chiang and greatest supporting actress Rachel Leung.
The awards ceremony befell on Sunday night (April 14) on the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
