Aftersun was the large winner on the 2023 Bafta Scotland Awards, taking three prizes for finest actor for Paul Mescal, finest director (fiction) for Charlotte Wells and finest author (movie and tv) for Wells.
Aberdeen-based Hassan Nazer’s Iran-set household drama Winners, produced by Nadira Murray and Paul Welsh, obtained the function movie award; whereas Lucy Halliday took the actress movie prize for her position as a homosexual woman in Nineteen Eighties northeast England in Georgia Oakley’s Blue Jean.

Director Jon S Baird introduced Trainspotting and Filth star Shirley Henderson with the excellent contribution to movie and tv honorary prize.
The ceremony was hosted on the Hilton Glasgow Central by presenter Edith Bowman.
